“Toska I” is an expressive fired clay portrait. The complex forms of the human face have been simplified to create an impression of a person rather than a likeness. The fired clay has a brilliant texture that contrasts the simplicity of the forms.

Additional information: There are minor cracks caused by the kiln, but they will not have an affect on the sculpture’s longevity. If anything, the cracks add a natural beauty from the material being placed under stress.
